Saskatchewan Whitetail
SASKATCHEWAN WHITETAIL DEER:
If you are looking for a destination where a hunter’s dream can truly be fulfilled, we have one of the very few western Canadian outfitting operations managed by a biologist and writer, specialized in Whitetail deer management. His dedicated work as a land manager/consultant has produced some big deer for the properties under his care but has also led to the consistent harvest of trophy animals.
He has been hunting in western Canada since 1997 in the infamous provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. He has a proven track record and has satisfied many customers in leading them to the harvest of big bucks with gross weight in the 250lbs to 300lbs range and B & C scores averaging over 150. Some of the clients from this outfitting operation were lucky enough to see their names entered into the famous Boone and Crockett record books with scores over 170. Moreover, several others missed the cut by only a few inches. Bucks in the 135 to 145 B & C class are harvested on a regular basis. On a normal six day hunting trip, our clients will see at least one buck in the 150 B&C class. Some will see even better deer whereas others will not be as lucky. This is all dependent on the weather conditions during your stay and on the dedication of the hunter.
This territory offers a good trophy potential. When we say “good potential” we refer to an outfit that offers all the ingredients of the success recipe, namely: a territory encompassing quality deer forest habitats, a trophy deer genetic pool, a deer herd large and healthy enough to produce super bucks and finally a team of experienced and proficient guides, who have acquired a deep knowledge of their quarry over the years and who are totally devoted to their passion.

Other important information:
(New: a modern herd management policy)
Hunting superior class bucks is made difficult by their mere scarcity which is due principally to the number of years that it takes to produce a high scoring mature male. Studies have clearly proven that Saskatchewan produces 3.5 year old bucks which already score 130 B & C or better. The same studies also demonstrate that the real western Canadian monsters are often 6 years of age and older. So it is easy to understand that a territory that harbors a good number of 3.5 year old bucks offers a better chance of having some make it through an entire hunting season and in turn attain a score of 180, 190 or 200+ B & C. To increase the odds of allowing a greater number of adult males to reach the desired maturity and their full genetic potential, we shall put in place a serious predator control. Moreover, in the case of a harsh winter beginning, we will pursue with baiting.
It is the hunter’s responsibility to be able to judge a deer rack in the field. Our camps are filled with comparative photos and we even have a unique reference guide system at the lodge to help you judge your deer while on stand. Very often, you will have a few seconds to take your decision.
On the other hand, we wish to go even further to insure the protection of quality prospects by introducing an important monetary penalty to those hunters who would harvest a male scoring less than 135 B & C during the last two days of their hunting trip. This way, we would like to avoid the possibility of hunters lowering their standards during those last days simply to bring something back home with them. This fine in the order of 1000$ will be directly reinvested as a reward for local trappers in view of keeping predator populations at a minimum level. If the winter starts prematurely, it will also be reinvested in the acquisition of supplementary forage for the month of December. Also, to encourage our hunters to refrain from pulling the trigger on an immature buck, we shall refund 1000$ to any hunter who harvests a buck scoring 170 B & C or better during the last two days of hunting. Remember, if you want to harvest a mature buck you have to agree to let pass the young ones which have not yet reached their full potential.
