Quebec Moose Hunting:

One king reigns supreme in Québec’s forests—the moose or American elk. This sovereign is royal not for its beauty or agility but for its majesty, strength and, of course, its magnificent antlers. The male moose proudly carries a flamboyant rack as its crown, measuring up to 160 cm (over 5 ft.) in width.  This beast commands respect with its nonchalant gait even in the thickest bush, its ease in the water and, above all, the earth-trembling bellow of the male.

This is one of Canada’s most majestic big-game animals. The size of the moose, combined with the vast wilderness,  puts all of your hunting skills and instincts to the test.  The moose hunting outfitters and lodges across Quebec can put you into areas with the best concentration of game.  You can travel by boat and on foot. The most successful moose hunters walk in, stake out a feeding area and wait for these giants to appear.  The bull moose in Quebec run generally in the 30-50″ class.  Success depends on your efforts and with a little hard work, perseverance and some hunting luck, a trophy bull will be yours.  Our outfitters limit the number of hunters per week to ensure your likelihood of success.

Moose hunting requires a great deal of patience whether you choose to hunt by stalking the animal or in hunting stands that have been erected in strategic locations. This sport is carried out in expeditions of two to four participants, depending on the zone.  The number of moose they are allowed to take depends on the zone and the territory, with one moose allowed per two, three or sometimes four hunters, according to the area.   Our outfitter is within the boundaries of an area offering 1 moose per 2 hunters.

Our Outfitter is located in North-western Quebec, Abitibi-Temiscamingue region, and is 45 minutes away from Rouyn-Noranda, thus, 7 hours from Toronto and from Montreal.  The main lodge  is accessible only by boat in the summer or by snowmobile in the winter, offering a fabulous view of nature and incredible hunting.

This Outfitter is composed of a main lodge and 6 cottages accommodating group sizes ranging from 2 to 8 people.

Archery moose hunts are in new areas with little hunting pressure.  Archery season runs for 2 weeks in September.

For rifle moose hunt, the season runs for 2 weeks in October.

Two tags are required to tag one moose.  Each group of hunters will have their own guide.

Private cottages include:

• Propane stove, refrigerator and lights;
• All cooking and eating utensils;
• Indoor toilet and shower/hot & cold water;
• Wood burning stove for heating and pre-cut firewood.
