Black Bear – Ontario & Quebec

Spring hunt:

The province of Quebec (Canada) has the largest population of black bears in North America and Canada, excluding Alaska.   The hunting season for Spring Black Bear is mid May to end of June.  During this time of the year there is no other big game hunting.   We offer bow or rifle hunts.   Black bears in the range of 300-400 pounds and up are harvested EVERY YEAR…and there’s a Quebec black bear waiting with your name on it.

We offer VIP bear hunts and we can customize the hunt and services to your requirements.  Bear hunts are in the spring as per government regulations and one bear per hunter per season is allowed.  Once you’ve harvested  your bear, you can relax, and go fishing!  Your guide will field dress, skin, and prepare the cape of your harvest.   If you require a taxidermist, we can refer you to an experienced professional and make the arrangements for you.

Our Outfitter is located in North-Western part of Quebec, Abitibi-Temiscamingue region, and is 45 minutes away from Rouyn-Noranda, thus, 7 hours from Toronto and from Montreal.  The main lodge is accessible only by boat in the summer or by snowmobile in the winter, offering a fabulous view of nature and incredible hunting.  Our Outfitter is located in the heart of North-western Quebec’s finest bear hunting grounds with 100% sighting of bears, on 1,200 square kilometres along the Ontario border.

You will hunt over a bait which has been prepared for you in advance.  Live active baits will be shown to each group of hunters.  Most baits are within 100 yards of the access roads and most archery shots are within 20 yards.

This Outfitter is composed of a main lodge and 6 cottages accommodating group sizes ranging from 2 to 8 people.

Private cottages include; propane stove refrigerator and lights, all cooking and eating utensils, indoor toilet and shower/hot & cold water, wood burning stove for heating and pre-cut firewood.

Standard services include;  boat, motor and canoe rental, hunting and fishing licences,  generated electricity during evenings only, fish cleaning station, sauna, shower, gazebo with BBQ’s, designated camp fire area to relax and enjoy the evenings, horseshoe and volley-ball games for enthusiasts,  cellular phone service, and guide upon request.

Ontario Black Bear (Autumn hunt):

We also offer Ontario fall Black Bear hunts in the months of September and Octobre.  Ontario (Canada) also boasts one of the largest populations of Black Bear in North America, estimated to be 75,000 to 100,000 bears.   Our Outfitter is located in central eastern Ontario in the hills of the beautiful Addington Highlands.  It is situated within a prime area with a Bear Management Area (BMA) in excess of 290 Sq. Kilometers.   Some would consider the hunting in the surrounding area to be one of the “Best kept Secrets in Ontario’’.

The area is not only abundant in wild game such as Moose, Deer, Bear, Ducks, Geese, and small game, the area is also noted for a herd of Elk that was re-located from Elk Island Park in Alberta to the Gin Lake area nearby. There will be many photo opportunities, so don’t forget your camera.

Our outfitter is known for its world class guided services for both gun and bow black bear hunts.  The Bear Management Area has in excess of 50 bait sites, providing you with the greatest opportunity to harvest a bear.  Many of the bait sites have built in tree stands with other sites planned for the individual with their own tree stands.

We start to bait the sites approximately six weeks prior to the opening and continue to bait the sites each day during the bow hunt.  For the duration of your hunt, you will be more than welcome to assist us daily while we bait and monitor the Bear activity at your stand.  Most of the time, we hunt in the evenings only and we like to get you to your tree-stand by late afternoon. This will give you 3 to 4 hours of hunting time. The majority of our baits are accessible by truck and the trails to the bait sites are well marked with colored tape.

Our Outfitter has the capability of providing a service to suit your needs.  Everything from the first time hunter, to the person who wants a total package put together for him or her.  You have a choice from a “Basic” guided hunt package to a “Fully Guided” Bear hunt, where the guide will stay with you throughout your stay.

We also offer a “Deluxe” Bear hunt package where we provide and arrange everything for you. (Food, Guides, Bait Sites, Camp Cook and Accommodations).  We would have an individual in the camp to do all the chores while your total focus would be to harvest a Bear.  We will and do guarantee a quality experience. T his package (Deluxe Guided Service) provides to the hunter the complete Bear hunting experience. The hunter’s total focus would be on the harvesting of a trophy Bear. Every need would be covered. Everything from 3 home cooked meals per day, taken to and from your tree stand each day, and the care taken to handle your harvested trophy bear.  During the day, you would be able to fish for Large / Small mouth Bass and Lake Trout or fish the many different species available in the many different lakes available in the region.  The “Deluxe” Bear hunt package includes;
