Our Outfitter is located in the big game hunting paradise of the Peace River region of Alberta. We provide high success mule deer hunting, whitetail deer hunting, black bear hunting, elk hunting and moose hunting even for hunters who aren’t physically fit. We also provide hunts for avid bow hunters and we provide some of the best hunting guides available.

Alberta Hunting Area
Our hunting area is hundreds of square miles of private and public land in Northwestern Alberta in what is known as the Peace River region. We are just over an hour drive straight north of the city of Grande Prairie and a 6 hour drive northwest of Edmonton. You can drive on paved roads almost right to the doorstep; the last 2 miles is a good gravel road.

The western edge of our territory is the province of British Columbia and the northern edge is the Peace River. It is a big, beautiful river valley that is the key to what makes this area so special. It is heavily treed with aspen, spruce, birch and willows. The creeks that feed the Peace River stretch far up into the flat farm fields where we do most of our fall hunts. This habitat is the perfect mix of farmland and woods, plenty of cover in the trees and plenty of food in the farm crops. It easily supports large populations of mule deer, whitetails, elk, moose, bears and even wolves.

The lodge is a very comfortable, inviting place to spend a week long hunting holiday. The lower level of it is set up to accommodate up to 8 hunters and 3 guides with no one on bunk beds. They provide all bedding, no need to bring a sleeping bag. There are 3 separate bedrooms for the hunters, a guide sleeping area and 2 bathrooms. There is also a large dining, living room and a kitchenette which is used to provide all of your meals. The lower level of the lodge also has a separate outside entrance so you never feel like you are intruding.

Black Bear Hunting
• A 150% or higher success rate with a 2 bear limit
• Bait sites where 6 foot, 200 plus lb. bears are average.
• A good opportunity to take a 300 lb to 500 lb bear with a big, record book skull.
• A very high bear population area – see as many as 40 different bears in a week.
• 25% color phased bears.
• A maximum of 6 rifle or bow hunters per week.
• No Black Flies

Our Outfitter has been providing black bear hunts in Peace River, Alberta, Canada since 1992 and has taken dozens of huge bodied, record book bears. Many of the big bears have been shot in just the last few years. The Peace River region of Canada is perfect habitat. The lush woods, farmland and high population of big game animals gives plenty for the bears to eat and get huge. There are also very limited outfitter tags and little local black bear hunting pressure.

During our spring bear hunts you will be hunting bait sites that have been set up well in advance of your hunt. All the baits are set for a 15 to 20 yard shot, making it easy for bow hunters or rifle hunters. We use a variety of bait including beef and pork scraps, beavers, grain and candy. All of it is put in a barrel and cribbed with logs so you are given a perfect broadside bow hunting shot. Tips given at the start of the hunt will also help you determine males from females, and mature from young.

Alberta, Canada has a large population of wolves and there is a chance that one will visit your bait. Wolves are very wary and usually don’t give an easy shot opportunity but it is a possible bonus on an already great Canadian black bear hunt.

Mule Deer hunting
• A guaranteed license in a trophy mule deer zone. No draw required.
• A 90-100% chance for a heavy 170 to 190 score buck.
• The possibility for a huge 200 inch deer.
• A not very physically demanding, low elevation, farmland hunt.
• Resident hunters on a limited draw.

Alberta, Canada is one of the premiere spots in North America for trophy mule deer and is in the best location within Alberta, the Peace River region. Mule deer are on a limited draw and the hunting is incredible. It has even surpassed the prairies of Southern Alberta known for a reputation for killing big deer. Our mule deer hunts run in September when the deer are in their bachelor groups and in November during the rut.

The key to our mule deer success is our summer scouting, finding and keeping track of as many big bucks as possible. Our primary mule deer hunting methods are what have proven to be the most effective. We drive and walk around farm fields, sit at the field edges, and hike along the open Peace River valleys spotting deer then putting on a stalk. The mule deer that we don’t kill in September go into hiding and then resurface in the November rut. The rut is also when new trophy deer that we’ve never seen show up.

On both of these mule deer hunts success on a trophy deer is practically guaranteed, it is just a matter of how big he will be. We do recommend that you shoot the first 170+ buck that you see, it might be 180 or 190 but you may not see another big buck. If you hold out for a giant we may not even be able to find a 170 class deer in the last days of your hunt. In Canada thirty inch wide or 200+ score muleys are always rare.

Moose hunting
• A very high Canada Moose population in our hunting area
• Rifle moose hunts where you can see 20-30 moose a day
• A physically easy, fun hunt, no swamps to wade through, or rivers to navigate or horses to ride
• A 90% to 100% success rate on 30 to 45 inch wide bulls.

Our Canada moose hunts are one of the easiest, highest success rate and least expensive moose hunts to be found. Our moose hunts take place in the Peace River region of Alberta. The rifle hunts are done as a rut hunt in late September, October or as a post-rut hunt in early November. Both are equally good hunts.

All the good moose hunting areas are relatively easy to access and the trophy quality has been getting better every year since it was put on a limited draw for Alberta resident hunters. We have guaranteed licenses, no draw required. These moose are categorized as Canadian moose and some big 45+ inch bulls have been taken in the last few years. Killing a 30+ inch moose with a rifle is practically guaranteed. With a determined effort moose bow hunters should be able to get good shot opportunities.

Moose hunting in Alberta is very weather dependent, cold frosty mornings are best making the bulls feed and rut in the farm fields. November is when they really group up, especially if it is cold and snowy. You may see 30+ Canada moose per day. We also use four-wheelers and walking to get into the more inaccessible areas.

Whitetail Deer Hunting
• An area with huge northern Alberta whitetails.
• An excellent chance to kill a heavy 140 to 160 score deer.
• The possibility for a huge 170+ score whitetail deer.
• Well scouted stand sites in both private agricultural land and public forest areas.
• A small, generally 4 hunters max, lodge hunt in the peak of whitetail deer rut.

Alberta, Canada is well known for its huge whitetails and the Peace River country is one of the best areas for trophy whitetail deer hunting. Our zones have a perfect edge whitetail deer habitat where there are large sections of woods that back up to farm fields. The giant Alberta whitetails get good feed and are able to hide out and grow to maturity. Whitetail hunting is either out of stands set on the edges of the fields where the does congregate or back in the thick woods on open cut lines not far from the fields. These locations are well scouted and thoughtfully chosen before your arrival.

The best deer hunting method used to kill big whitetails is to spend time in a stand. To have a much better chance for a good deer our hunters spend at least 6 hours a day and preferably all day in their stands.

Elk Hunting:
• Exciting, high success Alberta elk rut hunting at a reasonable price.
• Physically, a fairly tough hunt but at low elevation. No mountains to climb. No horses to ride.
• An experienced guide who knows where to find the elk and how to call them within range.
• An excellent chance to take a mature, heavy 5 or 6 point bull.
• A guaranteed tag, no draw required

There is a large population of elk in the Peace River region of Alberta, Canada. Here you get the rare opportunity to elk hunt during the peak of the rut. These elk hunts are done in a mix of public and private land on the farmland fringe using calling and spot and stalk tactics. You will have a great chance to get a mature, heavy 5 or 6 point bull scoring 250 to 300+. The hunting pressure is relatively low in most of our elk hunting areas. The elk are generally not difficult to locate as they can be very vocal. On good weather days, you may hear multiple bugling bulls. Occasionally even the bigger herd bulls will come charging into a bugle, giving the hunter a close shot.

Our rifle elk hunts take place from September 17 to the 30th as a 6 day elk only hunt. We own the only 2 outfitter rifle elk tags in our zone. Your chance for success on our elk hunts is greatly improved by being physically fit. Even though we kill some elk in the farm fields, being able to hike the steep Peace River Valley or chase a rutting elk is a huge asset.
